Anand Devappa Hiroji received his Ph.D. and M.Engg degrees from the Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering Department of the University of New Brunswick (Canada) in 2016 and 2011, respectively. During his Ph.D. research, he worked on developing a new method for radiation pattern extraction and removal from backscatter data collected with modern multi-sector multibeam sonars. He received his bachelor of civil engineering degree from Shivaji University (India) in the year 2005. Prior to his M.Engg degree, he worked as research assistant for Civil Engineering department of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (India) and as a hydrographic surveyor in Indian offshore industry.
At CCOM, he is working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate with Dr. John Hughes Clarke on improving the radiation pattern removal method for multibeam sonars. When not conducting research, he likes to spend time outdoors.
